When we

Too often live for the mountain top moments…

For the “take my breath away” stuff…

For the thrill…

And the rush of adrenaline…

We danger in forgetting about the humdrum rest of a dull day or the coating calm available in still moments.

The slowness of a muggy summer Sunday or a snowed-in winter day. The sweet stillness of a cup of tea, watching the thick honey drift to the bottom.

When we depend on the uplift of excitement, progress and achievement to take us places, we may err in disregarding the required leaning into the low moments, trusting in the process (whether it is slow, boring, seemingly stand-still, deceivingly sticky or feels like a dead-end.)

This is where trust is forged. This is where patience is developed. When things aren’t going “our way.” When life seems unfair.
