Thanks in all circumstances.

The internal reveals itself on skin

Even though darkness tries its best

To wiggle its way in

breeding suffering

contempt and hate

convincely saying there

was no escape

Looking at me (at you, too)

and stealing glances

distracting gazes

from second chances

I may have never taken

Had my faith been shaken

But truth is clear

it is so apparent

revealing itself

exposing itself

and it’s all an inevitability

an incredibility

it is that ignorance is faded in the light

weakness is harnessed into might

your grasping hands can’t hold so tight

never able to grip

what you can’t own

if you belong to the King

then you’re His alone.

Don’t come around here

Don’t show your face

When all you have are words

Ringing empty of grace

Unable to examine

Unable to recognize

that He’s building a kingdom

up from your lies

If you don’t understand

you can’t sympathize

Don’t wax intellectual

Don’t pretend to understand

the mercy of the cross

If you only confide in man

Not the same

No love like this

Holds power undeniable

to set the captive free

let the children be

makes the blind see

illuminates the path ahead

keeping straight and narrow

eyes watching me

like he cares for the sparrow

Breathing life into bones

deep into the marrow

No longer living by vision

but of faith through the Father

No use coming here to corrupt

Don’t even bother.

Rejoice always, pray continually,

give thanks in all circumstances;

for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
